About Tonto*
Jayden Sanchez* is Tonto, a Sequential Artist and Writer. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, he now attends The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) where he majors in Sequential Art. His biggest passion is the art of storytelling, and he plans to pursue a career in storyboarding and script writing, with the possibility of creating comics. Jayden is incredibly passionate about collaboration and often seeks out talent to work with. He is the founder of The SevenX Indie Animation Studio and Channel 8 Films, an Indie Film production studio
My Story*
There isn't a single moment in time that sparked my love for storytelling. Rather, it's something that I seem to have just been born with. Stories have always been important to me and I've gathered a lot of inspirations along the way. Animators like Pendleton Ward, Comic Writers like Bryan Lee O'Malley, and Comedy Writers like Julio Torres have been key inspirations in my art and writing style.
My friends have also been my biggest inspirations. I often look up to my artist friends and this adoration drives me to collaborate and organize projects that will combine our creative efforts. This leadership I take on has pushed me to work with peers to create visual artworks, and have helped me formed long lasting connections.
SevenX*
SevenX is an Indie Animation studio founded by Jayden Sanchez, along with his two friends, Daniel Peña and Isabella Labinsky. After working on their first short animation together, (Scott Pilgrim vs The Nerds) they formed the group and decided to recruit other animators that they knew. The next to join were: Josarrio Mendoza, Valere Tossou, Clementine Leal, and Devyn Bromley. This brought the member count to seven, leading to the studio's name. Together they worked on pitching stories and developing their next animations. They also started an Instagram page and posted introductions and short animations for each member.
Channel 8*
Channel 8 is Jayden's Film studio. He writes, directs, and edits his own "Not So Short Films", a term he's coined for his films as their average runtime is between
20-40 minutes. His focus is on comedic films but he tends to experiment with a variety of genres, such as drama, mystery, and fantasy.
His films all share a sense of absurdity, including commercial breaks and reality defying plots. Continuing the path of Collaboration, Jayden has worked on films with various other studios, including: TheUFOShow and YaYaProductions
